Hello ladies and gents, just thought where best to ask about buying one then this place, I know I know. Genius right! *ye%

Anyhow, Im not that up on specs of computers when it boils down to what works best for what, so any help here would be hugely appreciated. Basically, I want a decent laptop that can at least power something like all normal activities like, scanning and so on along with multiple tasks and maybe if im lucky, running some games at a decent speed.

Now I am not spending an awful lot, looking for an i3 with 4GB ram or a Dual Core with lots of ram. Ive read about but can't still seem to see what's what. Some say i3 is better, some say Dual Core is good enough, then you get some saying...... Just get i5. ;) Wish I could! Just looking for decent, not to expensive deal but just wanna know im not blowing my money away.

So out of those two options of processors and ram upgrades, which would you suggest?

    Hello and Welcome to PCHF,
i3 and i5 are series of processors from Intel, the 3 or 5 has nothing to do with the amount of cores. An i3 / i5 may be Dual Core (having 2 cores) Dual Core is not a processor lineup. If you can state a budget, we can recommend something.
