    Hello,

Im using a G72 Notebook PC with Windows Home Premium 64bit.

I've had this laptop for 1-2 years and scarcely encountered the blue screen, but when I did it seemed to always fix itself. I've never had this problem before, it just started occurring a couple months ago, and I've been trying everything to fix it. It doesn't happen at any certain interval in the videos, its pretty much random. I can get it every 10 minutes one day, and not get it the next. From the crash reports I've read, it seems something with the graphics drive is the culprit, though I'm not completely sure.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics drive from the HP website, though I'm not sure how successful I was, since it seemed to reinstall itself automatically, even after turning off the Windows Updater. I'm also pretty sure its not an overheating issue either, because I have a stand with a fan under my laptop, which keeps it cool.

I'm attaching the minidumps from the past month, all but one are PFN List Corrupt, which seems to obviously be the problem.

If there's any more information I can give, I'll be happy to oblige. Just let me know the instructions on how to get it if it's a bit complicated at all.

Hi Matt, and welcome to PCHF. :)

Your logs all show that memory corruption was the cause of the BSOD's. This is usually caused by either a faulty driver or faulty hardware (usually RAM).

In your logs I saw the driver dtsoftbus01.sys. This is related to Daemon Tools, an can be known to cause problems. If you have Daemon Tools or any other similar programs, can you please uninstall it, and see if the problem still occurs.

I have also moved this topic the to Windows Vista/7 BSOD section.

Thank You for the move and response :) I previously removed my Daemon Tools and other programs like it, after reading it in other threads and that didn't seem to fix the problem. I did replace my RAM maybe 8 months to a year ago, so would it be possible that it has just now become faulty? I've had a feeling that it's still something to do with my graphics drive, but I'll try to look into both that and any other mischievous programs I have lurking on my laptop

You can follow these instructions on how to run memtest. This will check your RAM for any errors. I would recommend getting at least 7 passes with it. Also, please make sure all drivers are up to date. :)

For some reason I haven't gotten the memtest thing to install correctly on a disk or usb (and I'll keep trying), but I've run about (what seems to be) 500 diagnostic tests from various things on my laptop and a lot of them point to the memory being faulty. Would this direct it more towards the RAM being bad, or does the graphics drive count towards that category as well? All my drivers seem currently up to date. Thanks for the ongoing help :)

I'd say that it's probably your RAM then. I'd recommend removing a stick of RAM, testing to see if the computer works, add the other stick of RAM, see if the computer works etc. Does this make sense, I know I might not have explained it well? :p

No, I believe I understand what you're saying. Just test each stick individually, to see which is corrupt? =P

Alright! Considering I can go a few days without a BSOD, this process may take a while. Thanks for all your ongoing help :) I'll be sure to post when I get some results!
