    hey guys, tried starting up my computer today and i get a blue screen of death right as i get to the login prompt, it happens approx 10-30 seconds after i get there so i do have enough time to login but it makes no difference wether or not i do login it as the blue screen happens either way, it says its a registry error of some kind. im running on windows xp, only recent changes i can think of are a new PSU and an automatic windows update upon shutting down last night, i CAN run in safe mode, and other than insuring all my cables and connectors inside my tower are correctly/firmly linked i havent tried much, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks...

    We need the DMP file created when your computer crashed.

    If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
    * Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

    i actually fixed it myself guys, turns out it was the windows update i refered to in my original post that screwed itself up, to fix i simply ran in safe mode and did a system restore to an earlier date, but thanks for responding anyways, nice to know people are out there helping each other ;)
