Got it while playing black ops but the wierd part was what I noticed in my menu's.

(I got 10.3 ver of Catalyst because its easy and works better)
But in that menu when i go to 3D the moving picture has thin black lines and dots and flickers all over the place. same with the menu in black ops settings.

    Things I tried:
    Restarting PC
    Uninstalled black ops
    Tried different catalyst drivers
    Reinstalled Windows

    PC specs:
Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit
Radeon HD 4850 w/ Catalyest 10.3 ver (Not upgrading, please dont suggest to)
    Intel core 2 duo celeron
    Microsoft securety essentials

I really dont know what else to do

(It has stopped now but I'm reinstalling black ops but I'm not gonna play it till I find out what to do if it happens again)

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hi bud, sorry for the delay.

To me it looks like it's a heat related issue. Have you tried opening the case and checking the fan on the GPU? Is it spinning, is it free from dust?

haha funny, the PC is dust xD
it isn't from heat or dust, it has to do with the directX cause it happend AFTER the directX error, I had the PC going at 240*F with no problem, But I want to know how to stop this error

...after all the things you have tried (software), I maintain that it's hardware related.

I hope someone else can help you further.

So, on a completely clean base-build of Windows (before you add anything else, software-wise), do you see the artefacts? If you put your GFX card in another PC, does the problem travel?

Uninstalling DirectX can lead to Windows instability, so whilst there are products that promise to do this, I personally wouldn't use them. Instead, either use the system file checker (link in my sig) or download and install it again: Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

Hello, I am kind of concerned about you saying that you were running your GPU at 240°F that is 115°C over what any GPU should be at.

Here are some things that could help cool it off.

1.) Take a panel off the case exposing the GPU

2.) get a home fan and blow air onto it --Recommended you turn off your computer wait 45min more it to cool off first, because things can crack on the mobo if they get cooled to quickly.

3.) Get some computer Dust cleaner and dust the GPU.

4.) Set the Resolution of the game lower and turn down the setting's a bit.
    ------------------------------------------------------------
But to be completely honest you probably over heated your GPU. If your game looks like this or even close to it, then you over heated it. and might have to buy a new one :(
--and about that DirectX thing it could be because of the GPU overheated.

    hope this help :)
