At least 12 people have been killed and dozens wounded in a shooting at a midnight cinema showing of the new Batman film near Denver, Colorado. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18921492 What do you think about this?
Yes. This dude was really crazy. "The dark knight Rises" for all the people on that theather. Very horrible incident..
Oh Man.. That is... Wow... How do people get the hearts, and the insanity to do such stuff like this?
I have many opinions on this subject but I shall not voice them because they could be viewed and devisive. Needles to say this was a horrible act that has marred many innocent people. Sadder yet, it will not be the person that will be made the issue of the crime. It will be watered down to the tools of his act.
Terrible news, no doubt. Thoughts go out to those effected. On a lighter note, saw the movie today. It was amazing.
Kudos to Craig Ferguson for altering his opening monologue of tonight's The Late Late Show (Friday, July 20th). The original monologue was taped on Thursday, July 19th (prior to the shooting) and included many comidic references to the new Batman movie. In deference to the families impacted by the tragedy in Colorado, Craig recorded a very heartfelt opening to replace the taped monologue. I will include a link as soon as something pops up on YouTube.
Mark my words. He'll get lawyers who will blame the movie for making him do it. He was acting out the role of Joker. He'll probably spend the rest of his life in an asylum, unless they find a tumor in his brain.
They are already blaming the weak anti-gun laws. No, I am not a gun fanatic. I just believe in justice.
I'm hearing the same, LC. NY politicians have been the loudest when pointing at the weak gun laws. We certainly could improve on our gun laws, but those guns didn't walk into the theatre on their own. I'm waiting for blame to fall on the economy and Obama. Holmes is apparently a brilliant young man with a bright future in neuroscience, but was unable to find work. He became angry & withdrawn since finding work at McDonalds. Perhaps blame will fall on McDonalds. Durn them and their unhealthy food anyway. He's a troubled young man. I hope justice is served appropriately.
We have VERY stringent gun laws in the UK and yet it didn't stop these... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungerford_massacre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Northumbria_Police_manhunt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumbria_shootings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunblane_school_massacre
@ Gandalf you may be on the right track,it seems that after the shootings happened his mom called the police telling them she thought it could be him, this was before police identified him.. Still looking for a public source for that..@Hengis yep you are correct about those gun laws it doesn't stop a da*m thing ..Also the AMC theaters is saying no more costumes at the movie house.. I hope this doesn't carry over to the Ren Fest, talk about sucking then again 99% of everyone is armed with swords and daggers tied up of course.. Umm! maybe thats why crime is really low at a Ren Fest...
Laws, any law, whether it be a gun law or any other brings to mind an old saying about a lock. It is only there to keep an honest man honest. Do you realize that the deadliest weapon on earth is the human mind? A single thought, a single concept can kill one or thousands. A random thought if acted apon can kill. Instead of looking at what these "people" used to commit the crime, instead look at the events, the steps, the actions. You will see that maybe madness is just an excuse.
Sorry Belahzur. The article was a bit over the top. $20,000 for the equipment? I live in the southern US. I could ride across into Mexico and buy all of it for less. Much less. Staged? In a twisted mind. Mind altering drugs? Maybe. Conspiracy? Doubtful.
