Don't remember where I put the power supply tester. Anyhow my supply generic I think is bad. Computer won't post after I tried to change memory. Left side is broken I think cuz I hear 3 loud beeps. So I have bad memory slot. But right side works. No big deal as I'm stuck with 1gb. But 1gb for backup computer for xp is good enough. Xp does well with 1gb. The problem is nothing posts at all but fans keep spinning. If I hold down the power button and turn off and on the power switch till its dead. Then turn the pc on it posts and works. I booted to xp. Worked fine. But got distracted and forgot to login. 2 minutes later it rebooted all on its own. I didi this twice. And once after logging to xp and it still ghost rebooted on its own. So it is a bad powr supply. Or perhaps bad 20 to 24 pin extension on the power supply. Or is it a bad board. And I got a used "Inter D925XBC" off ebay. Do I trust this supply to the other board when it arrives. Or do I just get a new supply. Or is it safe to test this supply with out damaging the other board. Or is the supply what damaged the baord and I should toss it. BTW it is a "MSI PM8m3-V" with p4 64 bit 3.0ghz 1gb ram (don't remember the speed.
Everything looks good. But regardless do I trust the supply to the other board I ebayed when it arrives. Or should I just get a new power supply. Cuz the supply maybe frying the board so do I reuse it or get a new one tomorrow. Or tuesday cuz of memorial day some places might be closed.
