Information: Create Animated Statbar!

Now that we are getting a few people on the team you may want to advertise the forum and team by means of the statbar such as the one visible in my signature at the bottom of this post.

To do so you can go to dcStat - Animated Stat Image Generator and click on the "Create new Statbar" at the top of the page.

If you want the same basic banner as I'm using check the same boxes I've checked in the pic below. (Custom text 1, Custom text 2, and WCG NON-BOINC not the other one) We are using the BOINC client but the WCG version of it not the one you get from the BOINC site.

Click "continue" and you'll go to the next page now check the little box that says custom and you'll get more options.

Enter your username. Change the hex value in the background color box to 33CCCC. Now in the information line clear the line and put your cursor at the left margin. Hit spacebar ten times then type "user_name" (without quotes) now hit spacebar again ten times and type "Points - user_points" now hit spacebar ten times again and type "Results - user_results".

Go to first custom text section and change the background color hex value to 33CCCC as well.
Clear info from the text input line and start with cursor at left margin again now tap spacebar twenty times.
Type "You can help in the fight against cancer" (or your own message similar in length).

Move on to Custom text 2 section and change background color hex value again to 33CCCC.
Clear info from the text input line and start from left margin again then tap spacebar twenty times.
Now type "Join The PC Help Forum WCG Team Today!" (or your own message of similar length)

Move on to the line that requests your email address below then click on "save".

The next page should show you the url which you can paste into your forum signature.

That's how mine was created.

I'm just off to work but off the top of my head when you finished did you copy it's URL and paste it into your forum signature?

Once the Statbar is created you are sent an email that contains the Statbar address, number, and key.

It's that address that should be pasted into your forum signature.

Try going back to DCstats then using your number and key see if it shows when you try to use the "edit existing statbar" feature.

Will check back on this thread after work.

Ok i did get the email with the url and where do you go to paste it ? I tried the edit signiture is that where it is? I use the url and it seems to be working showing my stats on that page

To access your signature, click on User CP. It's next to Home.
On the Your Control Panel, look down to Edit Signature

ok i got url pasted but it didn't setup like the greenish blue stat bar..

OK vger two things.

First you pasted it in the right place however in order to display it you have to add the image tags.

Simply go back to "edit signature" and before your image URL put [img] and then after the URL put [/img] without any spaces between the statbar URL and the brackets and then it will display.

As to the color that is something you customize at DCstats when you make the statbar.

You could go back and edit it and change the color to whatever you like.

If you want the same color the hex value is 33CCCC.

I noted that one of the projects you entered says invalid username?
