Just the OS is different now, right? And the issue occurred with both the Win XP and Win 7 installations? And you say you have both Wired & Wireless on this PC - but the same issue on both?

Ok - what hasn't changed? The PC, the Network Card, and the Router. The network card only affects Wired connectivity - if same thing happens on Wireless - that shouldn't be it. The PC - too general....

Takes me back to the Router. Any chance you might borrow one from a friend to try troubleshooting further?

yea the only difference is the OS, the problem in windows xp was the same but when i disconnect and reconnect i get the internet connection, but this is not working with windows 7.
and no the problem is only with the wireless connection, the wired connection is ok.

ill try to go to a public coffe shop and connect to the intenet.

Yes, thank you. I'm so sorry! I was thinking the issue occurred on both

A coffee shop would be a good test. It may be that your wireless card is failing. You have updated the drivers for the wireless card, correct?

i think the wireless card is up to date because i formatted the laptop 2 weeks ago, but can u tell me how can i know what is the name of my wireless card just to make sure.

im getting the same problem, it was connected fine at home this morning but wont get a internet connection at work in win 7. but saying that im on the same pc atm running ubuntu 9.10 (i duel boot) and the internet works perfect so this has to be related to windows 7 (i also have a vista laptop beside me and it connects fine to the internet).

so im kinda stumpted atm.
i've tried the usual ipconfig /release renew, checking through random settings, turning off the firewall etc, i've got no norton, mcafee etc installed since this is a fresh clean install of 7 home 64bit (1 day)

the problem happens wether its through ethernet or wireless.
