Well I don't see how that's possible unless you have some remote help software installed.

Can you tell me how you think this is possible because to me the only way he could track where you have been is when your at work and if the firm is on an intranet and you have gone outside of it.

The reason I am sure he does that is because one time recently is because he asked the people who are in the office to view the site from their computer. He later went on to do something where we could not see and told us the pages we had come and from what IP address we viewed from. He has on a few occasions since mentioned things about viewing habits online which make me believe he is continuing to track mine and others online habits at home because the sites he mentioned are ones I have only accessed whilst at home.

As for the remote help software we do have a program which is a remote access program which all staff did have an account and were allowed to use. A few months ago he had this power trip and changed the password so only him and his wife know it now but until a couple of nights ago I still had the software on my computer.

He can see the incoming IP address, ie; who logs on to the site and he can then say what pages were accessed by X IP.

As I mentioned earlier he can also track pages viewed from within the office.

And unless you have remote desktop software then it's impossible to see where you have been when you are at home.

I don't know where you get this idea that he can track where you have been even when you are logged into the company other than the companies pages.

It's quite an absurd idea.

WOW! What a thread. I'm not sure if I have this right.

The companies intranet?
The company is paying for Internet?
Possibly the companies computer?
Doing this on company time?
You want to change the companies settings?
You want to hide internet activity from the company?
Did you agree to a company policy?

A lot to consider there.

If it's a company server no matter what you do you it can be tracked as your logged in on your ID to the company server. The IT will know.

If you want to mask your IP from web sites there are ways but even then it can be tracked through your ISP and back tracing to you. Even anonymous proxies can be made to give up the information under court order. This is to stop illegal activity.

But even so if you are going through your companies server then tracking you is simple as pie. For that matter any law enforcement officer can track you quite easily no matter what you do.

There is no sure way to hide from any illegal activity. Whether it be from your company or the law. For every trick you try there is a way around it.

As long as you go through any server and that includes an ISP you can be tracked down. The only option is to not go on the net.

I have not seen what he sees on the screen, but he is the type of person who likes to try and force his power and show who is boss and that "big brother is watching you". Going by what you have said it may just be an absolute coincedence that he was able to name the page I was on before I accessed the company website as it was a pretty popular site and the one other person who was there at the time. When I first heard it I thought surely you can not see that sort of stuff! It just seemed to much of a coincedence to be a lie.

I think the proxy server that one of you guys mentioned is the closest thing to anonymous surfing that can be got and I'll be looking in to that. I don't do anything online that would get me in any sort of trouble with the law, but I just don't like being spied on.

The only other way is to suggest that the company has a link to software that will install a keylogger for example or other tracking software.

But you would have to agree that this would be a ridiculous assumption yes?

For most average people that would be a rediculous assumption, but this man is not normal so anything is possible. He has made almost every staff member quit due to his controlling and intrusive behavior and I'm not going to be far off doing it either I'm afraid.
