Can initial set up be done wirelessly?
Now I've got my new router (Netgear 834GT) I need to set it up, but all the instructions talk about is setting it up connected to my computer. Seeing as the phone socket is about 30ft from the computer, is there a way of doing this wirelessly? This will just save me from having to move everything across the room just to set it up!! Cheers |

Kids wouldn't let me hang around, so I moved it all to configure via the cable, but presto, it works!!

Hi
Got to this too late but I would have said yes, you will be able to do it wirelessly, however cabled setup is recommended due to the potential that you could lose connection during the setup process.

Just one query (last one, honest!).
The router claims a speed of 108 mps, but the status window reckons it's only transfering at 54 mps with an excellent signal strength. Am I reading this wrong, or do I need to update something to get the top speed? |
