Re: Router assigning external IP
Hi,
I don't know how WiMax works but are you sure you are getting two working IP's? And if you have two computers on the internet then there is no real problem. Except for an aesthetic one; it is showing the true IP instead of the internal IP.
It could be how the router works...
ISP's only give one IP to each subscriber and it is up to the router to 'share' the IP with each member of the network.
The only time I saw this was when the 'Modem' (incoming) connection and the 'Ethernet' ports were connected wrong (Modem in the Ethernet port and vice versa).
However, at that time there was only One PC with a true IP and all other PC's had no IP because the router was not 'sharing' the IP address.
So it appears that your internet is working fine. Maybe the router's default behaviour is to display the true IP? Could also be a slip up on your ISP's part. Since you should only be able to obtain one external IP and not two. You should check the router's manual or perhaps contact your ISP.
