Can you go back to the command prompt, and type in ping 192.168.1.1 and tell me if you get a reply or a time out?

Results are as a follows:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner>ping 192.168.1.1

Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner>

And yes, I'm with Opal Telecom.

Hey Sat,

If the wireless device comes with software, you should always use the software over Windows.

Do you know the make and model of your wireless device?

Hi MM,
The device barely states anything, all I can I get from it is the model, WA-T1. The software that comes with the thing just tells me my signal strength, IP information etc.

Naaaaasty Plexus dongle. I've only come into contact with one of these once, from what I remember, it's the windows software that it uses.

Can you reset your network connection settings back to automatic for me, you were going to do this before, but I can see from your ipconfig they are still on manual. When you use your Windows software to connect, it shows as connected? Can you do another ipconfig with your automatic settings after you have connected again?

I'll do it now and edit this post with the results.

I'm not sure I really understand what you're asking for, I don't have a specific Windows wireless screen, I just get a little monitor in the bottom right telling me whether I'm connected or not. The red square you see in the bottom right is the dongles software telling me I haven't got a connection.
