Default Wireless Internet connection problems

Having problems connecting to the internet through wireless about 60-80% of the time. I can connect to Yahoo, PC Help, but can not connect to other sites Republic Broadcasting Network being one of them. They are too numerous to post. I have other computers that are on the same wireless connection and can connect without any problem.

I do get a message when I have restarted my computer that states: Your computer is not connected to the internet. Desktop Marketer Client is working in offline mode. My wireless indicates that I am connected.

I ran an AVG scan and Norton and neither one picked up anything.

I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!

Hello and welocme to PCHelpForum.

Ok I noticed you have two virus scanners installed I would recomend in uninstalling one they can cause a conflict.

Using Norton I would check there allow list and settings it maybe Norton blocking your connection.Norton is a pain for annoyances.

I would just use AVG as my personal prefrence.

Click this:Prework if you suspect a malware problem.

Thanks for the response. I have been running AVG and Norton for about a year and have not had any problems. Should I still remove Norton?

I went to prework and I can not connect to Majorgeeeks or Besttechie.

Alright.

Try this.

1) Go into "start"
2) Click "Run"
3) In the dialog box that pops up type "cmd" without the quotes
4) This will bring up the command prompt
5) In the command prompt type tracert *the website you can't access* (e.g pchelpforum.com)
6) Post the results here.

This command traces the route that a request for a specific webpage takes from your computer to the website itself. If its a problem with your Internet Service Provider you will get some kind of error saying "Request Timed Out" when executing this command. Otherwise you will get the IP Addresses of the routers, etc. (aka Hops) which the request goes through enroute to the website and when the trace is complete you'll get a confirmation saying "trace complete"

If you get an error saying "request timed out" it'll probably be easier just to look at the number next to the request and tell me here what that number is. Then we'll go from there

I get a message that states: is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. This is with tracert and the web site information.

With just tracert, it brings up options d, h, j and w.
