Thanks, but i've already looked at that post. The thing is, all those people are trying to get the original fix to work (i.e. the one that allows you to connect at all). I have already done this fix and it works.
At the moment, the computers on my network have static specified IPs, and i enabled the broadcast flag registry entries again. I thought it might be them that were preventing the computers seeing each other, but no joy. It's looking like the only way the computers can communicate is if they are allowed to obtain an address through DHCP using the broadcast flag.
Which isn't helpful.
Hmmm... is there anywhere else i should be looking for errors?
So after undoing the registry changes and setting the pc's to get IP address's automatically the Vista pc's can all see other and you are able to ping them? Can you please confirm that you have tried this and that it is the case.
If they still can't ping each other - access your router via it's web interface. Check if you have a setting called AP Isolation under Advanced. If it is enabled disable it. See the Wireless devices can see each other now.
Right, i've just tested it. By reverting the vista PCs to the original settings they can see each other again. I had to restart the router to get them to connect, but when they did, filesharing worked.
I had a look in my router, the setting does exist, it was already disabled.
