What's that ilya, didn't quite understand, is everything OK?
I bought everything that I was told by you, but there was no gain, only other way around. My desktop that is on my first floor, that sits 3-4 feet from my router has %64, with everything installed, I had only %54-55. So I really had no gain here. But the other way around. Not even talking about my upstairs nor my wireless printer. So I got everything ready to return it to the store tomorrow. Thanks for your help though!!
So basically you have less signal with your new hardware than you did with your old?
Looking at another important factor between wireless devices. If your in a building with a lot of steel, you'll be hard pressed to get much of a signal through.
There's absolutely no point in having a slow wireless connection to your laptop if your only 4ft away from the router, you might as well just plug a network cable into it. The important thing is the signal strength at longer distances. You can also have poor signal quality if your sitting too close to a router, especially if it's designed for longer distances. Have you tried playing loud music through cheap low powered speakers? It's a poor example I know, but it's the best way I could describe it.

My desktop is close, and it also is wireless. My mom got annoyed by the cable on the floor, and bought me a wireless USB key. Playing music, what will it proof?
And you are correct on your previous statement/question.
Your definately right there, these things are certainly not cheap. Bit of an expensive approach for the sake of one less cable IMO.
Can I confirm that your problem at the moment is that you can now connect properly over longer distances, but have a problem connecting short range? Have you thought about placing the router somewhere else in house?
