I am using a HP Pavilion Dual Core PC (2 Pentium 2.8 GHZ) with 2 GB of RAM
The OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with SP2

I have added a Linksys Wireless G PCI Adapter. Windows has installed it automatically without asking for the Linksys CD.

Windows says the peripheral is working properly.


I have configured a network using the parameters I previously used on my other home PCs :

• SSID is identical
• WPA PSK AES encryption is selected
• The WPA key is identical

But the network connection will not work.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled without any success.

I have tried to run the Linksys setup utility from the CD ROM but it won't even start. I have copied the files to the hard drive and the utility will still not run... This I really don't understand!

Can anybody help?

Do you have a connection to your router and not your internet? Or is there absolutely no connection?

It is now working... and I did not touch anything... The only thing I did actually was to set up the router so that it broadcasts its presence. Could that be it? Afterwards, I disabled the broadcast function on the router again and everything is still running well!
