Hey guys, would massively appreciate some help to a sticky situation/issue.

Basically i use wireless internet in two places, my home, and my student home. Both places we have orange livebox, wireless etc. At home wirless internet always works fine, no problems. But at my other location it works mostly, but often get the message,

Access Point after the wireless connection heading. And next to signal strengh- no signal.

The only way i seem to resolve this is by turning my laptop on and off.

Anyone with any ideas or solutions would be great help. Thanks

Since this problem shouldn't be in your laptop and your home wireless works fine, suggest (for test purposes only) you replace your "student home" router with your "my home" router.

If the symptom goes away, then look to the "student home" router for the problem.

I cant really gain access to home router currently, so swapping be an issue.

Also what exactly do u mean by changing the router??

Would changing the filter have any impact?

I said nothing about filters.
The box that gives you access to the internet is called a router.

However, if you had someone else install your "home" router, then perhaps you should not try this. This is just the logical troubleshooting step that I would take.
