Default Connecting Netgear Wireless Access Point

Hi, I am an inexperienced PC user and really need some help. My existing set up is as follows.
IMac with Panther operating system with wired connection to the internet via an Origo ASR8400 router (no modem). I also have a PS3 wired into this router. All works fine with no connection problems what so ever.
I have just purchased an HP 530 Laptop running Vista Home Basic and a Netgear WG602 Wireless Access Point. I want to connect the Access Point to the router and use the laptop wirelessly. Currently I am unable to configure or connect the netgear device. I have absolutely no idea how to do this and the instructions don't really relate to my set up. I have the IP addresses of all of the devices and could really do with some kind of idiots guide step by step walk through if anyone can help at all.
Thanks in advance,
Mark.

Hi Mark and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Did you connect the other devices to the wireless network? If you did, you'll need to find out/remember what security measures you put in place.

Default Re: Connecting Netgear Wireless Access Point

Hi, thanks for your reply, I don't currently haave anything on a wireless network. My Mac and PS3 are connected to a wired router. I want to attach the Wireless Access Point to the existing wired router in order that I can use the HP Laptop in other parts of the house wirelessly. The Mac and PS3 will remain wired to the router.
Thanks,
Mark.
