Default [Fixed] How Do I choose the Key Index for WEP on Vista.

Hi.
I have Vista home premium(on other computer) and just now by accident I unhooked my wireless adapter on than PC and that plugged it back in and did the reconnecting part, but when it asks for the WEP key, I dont get to choose the Key index..like 1,2,3..etc....! how do i do it because If i just put in my WEP key for my wireless connection it keeps going to Unidentified Network, and I get "Server No Found" on my browser (Mozilla) whens means there is no connection.
I've looked at the network connection and found that Its Seeing my SSID but it wont connect because the WEP is wrong...and yes, I've doubled checked to make sure the key is typed in properly.(also I've tried 11 times now lol). So basically all I want to know is How Do I Pick the Key Index When I'm Typing in the WEP Key

P.S.: I'm sure its not, the Adapters fault, because Its worked all this time.

Thanks in advance.

When you enter the key ensure you choose the security level that you originally set up on the router - 64bit, 128bit....

If it was/is 64bit then you have 10 letter/numbers to enter

I've chosen a 128bit WEP key. Does choosing the Key Index not matter? and in Vista how to I change it to 128bit when I'm asked to type in the WEP key?

Just to clear things up...

TH XP is the one that the Main computer connected to the router and is sending the wireless signal. I used the Vista with a wireless adapter to connect to the router, But I've forgotten how I connected to it the first time I set up the connection, Because I remember typing in the WEP key and then it connected w/o any problems.

how to I change it to 128bit when I'm asked to type in the WEP key
The strength of the encryption is dictated by the amount of characters - for instance, if you need 128bit encryption then a hex key of 26 characters is required.

Yes, I've checked that the key i am typing in is 26 characters. But it still does not connect, it keeps going to Connected Unsuccessfully.

...then the WEP key is incorrect. You will need to connect to the router to get/set the correct one. What make and model number is your router?
