My friend and I actually have a name for this: BRS (Bad-Router Syndrome). It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the router, though. Here's what I need to know:

1. How far apart are the wireless router and the computer/its wireless adapter?

2. What Firewall / AntiVirus / AntiSpyware are you using?

3. What are you using to connect to the router (software that came with the wireless adapter, with the router, Windows' built-in one, or other)?

4. Please tell me the Model of your Netgear router, and the Make/Model of your wireless adapter (or PC if it has built-in wireless support).

5. Does the laptop have built-in wireless support?

Go to Start > Run, and type devmgmt.msc

Do you ave any yellow exclamation-points or red X's next to any of your devices (particularly those pertaining to network/internet)?
