Default This is giving me a headache!

Hi,

Just set up a wireless network between a new laptop and desktop, got shared internet access working fine, and I can access my new laptop from my old PC no probs. However, when I double click on the icon for my old desktop from the laptop I get prompted for a username and password, Ive got no idea what this is. It doesnt seem to be any of the existing users on the desktop so im very confused!

Thanks guys,

Nick

Hi Nick and welcome to PC Help Forum

A quick fix would be to set up the same user on the PC and the laptop. Set them both as Administrator and you should be good to go...

Ive got myself as an administrator on both with the same username and password already. When I try entering this info it comes up with login unsuccessful, and then prefaces my username in the username box with 'Nick-PC\' (the name of my laptop), so the username reads: Nick-PC\Nick.

Any other ideas Hengis?

Thanks for helping, really appreciate it.
