Default [Fixed] Wireless Adapter won't find the internet

Pretty much exactly what it says on the tin.

Using my d-link wireless adapter, I used to be able to access the Internet. Now, I can find the wireless network just fine, but it will not access the Internet.

Any help please?

Hi Hunter,

If it can find the router, and you have a storng enough signal, is the router connected to the internet? Check your routers configuration page from Internet Explorer, address is normally 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Username and Password (if your not sure) is normally written on the back of the router.

The router definitely works, and I can connect to it via ethernet, and via another laptop with a different wireless adapter.

However it can't find the router via the normal address.

So via ethernet it works and you can connect to the internet right? Is there any wireless security on the router which may be causing your problems?

Whilst connected to the router via your D-Link Wireless Adaptor, can you do the following:

- Go to Start, Run, and type in cmd
- From the command window that appears, type in ipconfig
- Right click on the titlebar, and go to Edit, followed by Select All
- Right click again and go to Edit, Copy.
- Connect back to the internet via ethernet and paste the results back here.

This ipconfiguration is taken from when your unable to connect? and your unable to access your wireless page via Internet explorer (address 192.168.0.1)? Your getting "Page cannot be displayed right"?
