Compaq Lap/Belkin G+ Wireless Notebook Card: no Internet Connection
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,
I just did a total Restore/Reinstall ( 2x actually ) on my husband's Compaq Presario Laptop yesterday ( Operating System/Compaq stuff, his Norton Internet Security Suite 2003, and the Belkin CD, then insertion of the Belkin Notebook Card ).
( Internet Connection/Function was FINE before the Restore/Reinstalls. )
I cannot get an Internet Connection at all ( even after 2nd Restore/Reinstall ); which made no change at all.

( There is a strong signal from the Router, Ping to Router and Host are fine, Network Diagnostics all fine. Host ( my system ) is connected; never a disconnection. )
1) I did an Uninstall of the trial Norton Internet Security Suite 2003 which was bundled with the Compaq; rebooted, before installing his Norton Internet Security Suite 2003.
2) I tried Winsock Fix, Layer Fix with the first Restore/Reinstall; reboot, no change.
3) I did Uninstall/Reinstall of Norton in case installation files corrupted; reboot, no change
4) I checked Windows Zero Configuration on Host and Compaq Laptop.

I did not yet try to disable Norton Firewall; as it always automatically created rules which allowed for instant and smooth Internet Connection and Function.
I worked for 11 hours on this mess yesterday; and am at it again today.

Anybody have any ideas how to resolve this issue?

Thanks,
Ravenquille
