Somewhere on the router there should be encryption settings or security settings from there you can select the type of wireless encryption. Either WPA or WEP, which one you choose depends on the hardware connecting to the router, check which one it is compatible with, WPA is the best choice if it is possible.

Then enable it and put the key given into the wireless adapter settings to allow it to connect to the network.

If you need more in depth help post the make and model of your router

Ok, depending on what router your G/F has, go to http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 . Once you are in the routers admin pages, look for a tab called security. I recommend you use WPA as this is the most secure for WLANS . Make up a security in the format of Pchelpforum123456 as passwords with a mixture of uppercase, lowercase and numbers makes it hard for any hacker to guess.

Hey thanks for the quick response guys,
On the router itself I cant see any encryption setting atall. There are a few numbers but they say LAN address etc.

Also ive been to the two web addresses you typed but both wont load up , Any idea whereelse i could find the network key? The router is a Wireless Belkin G+ Router.

Its going to be similar to this, so try following this guide and see how you go.

http://www.belkin.com/support/dl/TSG...on%20Guide.pdf

http://192.168.2.1

If that doesn't work try accessing it when the pc is connected to the router via ethernet cable.
