Chance, when Hengis gets involved with a thread it's for a reason.
Don't take offense, learn from it. Watch how he works and the recommendations he offers. I do and as a result I become a better tech. OK?

No offence Taken Gandalf. It just confirms that I'm better face to face with people than here. Over twenty years as a tech and I still have not mastered this remote troubleshooting. Is one reason I turned down LGW's offer. I was unsure...now I am. Tell her thanks for the vote of confidence. Hope she is well.

And thank you and the rest for being great people...

Ok, please can you do the following;

1) Please confirm that this is your router:http://cache1-www.belkin.com/support...4_man_6-04.pdf
2) Click on Start > run > type in CMD and press enter. In the new (black) window, type in IPCONFIG /ALL and hit enter. Tell me your IPaddress, DNS and Gateway.
3) Tell me your ISP
Model number is correct however that is the American model. I use the british which has only 1 antenna

without the router pluggedin my details are...

ip address... 82.30.158.225
default gateway 82.30.156.1
dns 194.168.4.100 & 194.168.8.100

With router plugged in all the above says 0.0.0.0 and with the NEW router I bought today it does the same thing

and my isp is virgin media
