Default Router Question ( I"m Back lol )

Hi Guys,
my daughter wants to make her laptop wireless, at present the net connection is as follows, wireless conection via antena, the cable from the Antenna goes into something which I can only find info on that tells me it is a Broadband Wireless IP Local Loop, out of that a cable goes into a Netgear cable/dsl router, out of the router a cable connects into here laptop.

She has purchased a D-Link DI-524 AirPlus G wireless router and a D-Link Airplus G USB wireless adapter.

Can I eliminate the Netgear router and use the D-Link in its place and if I can should I first look for ISP addresses etc by taking note on what I find if I do and ipconfig on the netgear connected up?

Is it just as easy to connect the D-link to the Netgear?

I have tried and tried setting it up, coming out of the Netgear to the DL , the DL icon shows green (all is wel) in the taskbar, I can not connect to web using wirless and if I plug the cable into the DL then to comp, still no connection if i plug cable into netgear, then i have connection.
So I am still in the process of trying to work out my mistakes and at the moment PPPoE and all those other things associated with it are very foreign.Lol the D-Link support page has become my home page.

In theory it all sounds easyish but when it comes to the practical side, well say no more .

Thanks Guys.

The comp and I r not getting along.

Both will work. If you are going to connect the dlinks to the netgear, you have to plug the ethernet cable into one of the ports on the netgear router, for example 1,2,3,4. NOT the internet port on the netgear router. On the dlinks rounter, plug the other end of the ethernet into it's INTERNET port. This should work
