Default New to wireless

Hey, i'm looking to set up a wireless connection.

What I have at the minute is a desktop PC (not wireless enabled) which is connected to the internet with a USB cable modem, and a wireless enabled laptop which is not connected.

I only need the laptop to be connected wirelessly, so obviously need a wireless router. Do I need anything else, and how will I go about setting it up?

Thanks.

Hey BigJoe21!

Make sure you get the right router, depending on what connection you got, cable, or xDSL.
Not very much can go wrong besides that. The shop you are buying your router from will be able to help you making the right choice.

Cheers for that.

I'm a complete beginner here so this may seem obvious, but what type of cable would I use to connect my (non Wireless enabled) desktop PC to the wireless router?

You would use a standard cat5 ethernet cable, make sure it's a standard cable NOT a crossover cable
