Check with your ISP to insure that you have the correct addresses and other information to establish a connection.

so no matter what I need to get a big cable to connect my router to my pc to sort out the problem?

Before you do anything like that, as I recommended in my last posting, check with your ISP to insure that you have the correct addresses and other information to establish a connection.
