Default [Resolved] Trouble with Linksys Wireless-G pci adapter

I just put in a Linksys Wireless G PCI Adapter model WMP54G. I went through their set up process and now at the end it says i am connected to the access point but not the internet. Is their something more I need to do to become connected to the internet. I am currently running windows 98se. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Fritz,

I don't believe that I've had the pleasure, so my welcome to PCHF as well.

How were you previously connected to the internet?
What are the specs of the modem and router you are using?
Can you please give a very specific descripton of exactly how you have your modem, router, PC etc. connected to each other?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Previously the Computer had a 56k modem for dial-up but I just recently upgraded to DSL. The modem is a Pannaway RGN-210 and the router is a MyEssentials Wireless G router. One computer is wired to the modem and router and I already have another computer that is wireless picking up the signal and able to access the internet. So this would be my second computer to pick up the wireless signal.
If i need to be more specific or give better details just let me know.

Hey Fritz,

Just to clarify, you are working with two or three PCs?

The one that you are currently trying to make wireless, did it connect when you made the upgrade to DSL?

I'm thinking that it may be a simple settings issue.

Is the PC that is currently connected wirelessly using the same adapter?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Three PC's total.

THe computer that i am currently trying to make wireless, had been in a closet for two years until i decided to get it out and get it working again so i reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows98se.

The PC that is currently wireless is using the same wireless adapter

Thank you for your fast replies

No problem Fritz, that's what we're here for. And anyway, Hengis beats us when we don't respond quickly, LOL.

OK, so much for my idea, if you've reformatted, it's not a settings issue from a previous connection.

I'm going out on a limb and assuming that the wireless PC is also running 98?

Do you have the PCs connected to each other? If so, can the third PC be seen by the other two?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN
