having someone out may be the best option, as they will have that machine in front of them. I have a dlink wireless router myself, but a different model, and mine was pretty straightforward; install the software first, then hook up the router, then go to the ip (192.168.1.1) and configure the router with what I needed it to do. In my case, it created a wep for me that I stored on a usb key, then installed on the lappy that was going wireless, and that was that.

where is it saying unsecured? on the router page?

if you lose connection when it's shared, one of the machines doesn't have the correct key. How is the network set up? For instance, mine is set up wall > modem > router > main pc >> all other pc's. Again, when I set mine up, I just followed the instructions on the owners manual and had zero issues. Instead of haveing someone out to your house, call the linksys number and have them walk you through it. I'm fairly certain that they have a UK number you can use. That would probably be the easiest thing to do.

keep us informed,

v

I have the wireless router set up with 2 laptops one with a card and one with wireless already enabled in the other laptop, the only thing i can think of is in the G604T D link in the start- connections -wireless connections -properties when i put in the wep key that i printed off from windows provided for me but the key seems to be too long, when typed in , does this make sense!!!!!

if it's too long, you are entering it in the wrong place. Again, at this point, I think I'd call linksys, and get them involved. They should be able to point you directly to the correct page/area you need to be on. Without being in front of the machine, it's difficult to say exactly what to do, as all I have to go by is the manual and my router at home, which, while being linksys, is not your model, so doesn't really help us here.

Here's the UK linksys page: Linksys.co.uk Sales - ISOMicro UK Ltd It's got a number at the top you may want to give a ring and see if they can assist.

let us know if it works.....

thanks,

v
