Default PLEASE HELP- Wireless Laptop Problem

Hey guys,

Would be really grateful if somebody could help me. We have Wanadoo wireless and talk in our house, the main computer internet is working fine, but when i turned my laptop on earlier the wireless network would not connect. I got a message stating:

'Windows could not connect to this network, There might be interference between this computer and the network acess point, or the network is refusing to access this computer'

Now i took my Laptop to University and used it there on the wireless network, and believe this could have caused some sort of interference etc!]

How do i stop the interference and allow my Wireless to work at home?

Any help would be great? Thanks

I cant get the message to come up now to enable me to perform a screenshot.

my wireless connections is trying to 'acquire its network address' then after 30 secs searching i get ' this connection has limited or no connectivity'.

My internet on the laptop was workin fine a couple of hours ago an now there is nothing! Might it be an idea to delete the wireless sytstem off my laptop then re-add it or something.

Whats the general solution with inteference etc?

Thanks

Well, "interference" can be counteracted by changing the wireless channel on the router itself...do you have access to the router management pages?

Also, did you check that you are connecting to the correct wireless network. I know it sounds silly but it's easily done.

Ye i can change the channel on the main system. I did this earlier today beacuse problems with my laptop wireless occured and i thought id solved the problem only for 3 hourse later the internet on the laptops not to workin again. I can try again now see what affects but im worried about the interference issue how i can get rid of this on my laptop. We had this problem a couple of months ago, when i used the Univeristy wireless system, when i got home i had to change the channel and also change the order of preffered networks, but now there seems to be nothing on my laptop regarding the interference or nothin givin me any clues of what the interference is.

Cheers

If the "inreference" is only happening at home then have you tried siting the laptop in different locations thru the house?
