Good!!

I am not aware of a way of doing this but my recommendation would be to try a different channel every day and test which one is the most stable. It may seem like a lot of work but it will prevent you ever having to change it again in the future.

So if say the internet on my laptop does'nt work tommorow, change the channel and see how it goes on that channel? And if keep having problems keep varying the channel till i get stable and un-affected connection?

One other thing though, am i right in thinkin that the University wireless i used my have been the interference or could it have been anything which caused the problem? Am i best not using other wireless networks in the future or is there a way i can use them without affecting my home network?

Thanks alot for your help.

I think it's more likely that you have a local signal that is messin' with your wireless. Keep a pen and paper handy and note down the "good" channels - you'll find them

do u have a cordless phone is it at 2.4ghz there might be frequency interference sometimes changing the channels on a router will help but in most cases you will need a lower frequency phone 900mhz or a high frequency phone at 5 ghz maybe with frequency hoping. When you get disconnected go to command prompt and type ipconfig /renew and renew the ip address and see if you can connect if so thats your issue.
