I have a wanadoo livebox, the conection is going slow, normally goes twice as fast, im using LAN on a shared network 98 to xp, but im not sure about the signal light on the livebox flashing- or constantly on.Im not sure whether it is protected wirelesly. Could anyone access my internet through wireless, if so how do I find out/stop it?

Hello there jakedude182 and welcome to PCHF!

The wanadoo livebox has an automatic WEP security turned on when you first get it. the WEP key is printed in the info, this form of wireless security will keep you safe.

The signal light would be showing activity through your livebox (most likely you and no one else unless they have your wep key).

Well you could turn off the wireless security but if you want to connect wirelessly with it on then you need the wep key which would be in the livebox configuration panel (you can also turn it off from there)

P.S. I see you looked at my profile and i have merged your posts because you have posted two in a row next time please just press edit under your original post.
