I have recently tried to set up a wireless broadband router (Safecom SWBAR-5400) and a USB wireless adaptor (U S Robotics USR5422). The router is connected to a broadband cable modem. Both have been installed in accordance with the instructions (I think!)
I am able to access the internet via a network cable connection to the router, however, when I use the USB adaptor, I cannot. Internet Explorer just hangs on an egg timer.
The computer can communicate with the router, with an excellent signal.
I use a Symantic Security/Firewall, and I have run the Norton Connectivity Troubleshooter, this has reset the firewall perameters, but has not solved the problem.
Any assistance would be welcome - please keep it simple - I'm no tekkie
