Default [Resolved] Linksys wireless adapter screwup

Hi, guys
I'm hoping someone here may be able to help because I seem to be getting nowhere with the tech support guy at Linksys whom I'm chatting with as I type this.

I bought a wireless PCI adapter today .. Linksys WMP54G version 4 .. installed it on a P4 1.7 GHz machine with Win XP SP2 .. 768 Mb RAM .. P4VXASD2+ motherboard .. so I'm well within the system requirements.

I followed the instructions from the manual to first run the cdrom before I install any hardware, I get to the step where the software shuts down my computer so that I can install the adapter. After that's done and I restart, the computer won't boot up anymore. Even after I pull the sucker out, it won't reboot.

I've googled for some answers, but no luck so far. What do you guys think?

Welcome back.

Do you receive error messages? Also, how far into the boot process do you get? Do you have System Restore on? Can you get to the Safe-Mode menu, (tapping F8 when after switching on the PC )?

No, I don't get any messages. It doesn't go into the boot process at all.

It doesn't boot at all. The screen remains completely dark/black .. only thing is a series of beeps from the internal speaker.

Yes, and I tried booting from a floppy, but the boot-up sequence doesn't seem to even get to that.

Just tried that, and no.

Default Problem Fixed

Don't laugh guys, but it seems that while I was pulling and installing hardware in the PCI slots, I nudged the video card out of the AGP slot on one end .. so that was causing the computer to not boot.

It's working fine now, and I feel a bit of a moron.
