Ok I have a netgear DG834GT 108mbps wireless router, and two netGear WG111T usb 108 mbps network adapters.

2 pc's both windows 2k prof.

they both connect fine, but both lose their connections to the router.

One pc (the newer one) loses it very infrequently, the other every 20 mins or so.

I get the following message in the event log repeatedly though:

tcpip event id 4201

The system detected that network adapter NETGEAR WG111T 108Mbps Wireless USB2.0 Adapter was connected to the network, and has initiated normal operation over the network adapter.

The better pc seems not to mind but the other one wigs out everytime this happens forces a browser election and disconnects.

The only way to reconnect appears to be disconnect the adpater and reconnect it.

Any idea's whats up... i have tried netgears forums but no joy.

I think the pc keeps losing the device, as though I'd unpluged it and pluged it in quickly, is there some win 2k setting for how often the os checks the usb ports for connected devices?
