Default [Resolved] device cannot start (code 10)

after finnaly getting XP to find my new USB adaptor and got the drivers installed XP tells me tha the device cannot start with a code 10

i have looked around and haven't found much useful info on the net so i bring myself to the ever so helpful hands of you guys.

the system in question is a Clevo 2800t laptop with XP SP1 installed on it and thats pretty much it software wise, no other USB bits are installed on the machine so it's not a power conflict as i have read elsewhere. i have also tried to re-install the drivers both updating them and uninstalling and the re-installing them again, still no luck,

any thoughts guys n gals, my wife is starting to get a lil bit peeved as she hasn't been able to get online with it since xmas

Right click on My Computer,Select Properties,Click Hardware Click Device Manager. If it has a "+" next to it, click it once so it becomes a "-" and the device should show right below it, Dble-click on the description; this will open the cards properties Cick on Resources Click "Set configuration manually". This should assign an I/O range. Make sure there are no conflicts reported in the Conflicting device list. Your IRQ should show with a "?" over it Double-click on IRQ This will come up with a value for you. Make sure it does not show a conflict and then click OK...Clk OK to set these settings and YES to continue with changes. This should clear your code 10 error

 Hiya Spellbyte,

Nice avatar there M8. Good to see you around. Tell your wife not to worry, we'll figure out a way to get you back up and running.

What are the options showing in Properties?
