I have been looking around and found this over at M$

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...02april08.mspx

my problem is that im having a hard time of enabling AD-HOC on both machines, i can set it on the laptop, but when i do that i lose the client assoication between the 2 machines.

one thing that still baffles me is the network bridge, do I need one or not?

The two devices should run independently (wired and wireless) so no, you shouldn't need a bridge.

That link you provided is talking about ICS (Internet connection sharing) but you have a router so this isn't needed either.

but the router isn't a wireless router, i have a seperate wireless card for the wireless connection.

let me explain the setup a bit better..

right i have the main cable connection going to my router,,,
and the router is connected to my desktop and my PS2.

then i have a seperate PCI wireless card in the desktop, and then there is the USB wireless dongle in the laptop.

well, it's late so I'm off to bed. Please consider the Skype offer - we could also hook up a remote session if you like. Let me know.
