Default Belkin Wireless G Network Card

Currently running 1meg Broadband wireless through an Ovislink Router.with Encyrption, Works perfectly with my Laptop but when it comes to my home PC thats another story. I Installed the card as intructed And it worked for about 10 minutes. It started to loose singal despite being practically 5 feet away from the router. Then When i searched for available networks it couldnt pick up my home network or any others in the area. It eventually found the network after i restarted the system but then it started to loose connection every 8 -10 minutes now it can find the network but cannot acces the internet all i get is "page cannot be displayed"

Any Ideas?

thanks

Welcome to the forums!

When you say encryption, are you talking about WEP or WPA?...and did you add the correct encryption key to the connection on this PC ?

i had this problem once, never figured it out but...i blamed it on my wireless adapter being usb 2.0 and my computer using 1.0, everything worked, but frequently disconnects. I have a new computer in the same spot with newer and compatible hardware and it works flawlessly. any of this apply to you?

Exclamation Belkin Card Disconnect

I have had the same problem - I seem to have narrowed it down to a possible intermittent hardware problem. It seems to need to be powered up again to re activate the card. If I put the machine in hibernate and then re start the card activates - sometimes. A full restart always activates the card and it works sometimes for a few hours but often for only 10 minutes. I have tried a number of different slots and have fully re-installed my system once and the same problem continues - I have just decided to replace the card to fix the problem.

Seen this problem:
-fixed it by reinstalling windows
- also possible due to firewall that is build in the router (linksys allows it to be turned off)
which allows some data through but blocks others
since you have connection before for 8-10 min, it means that it has nothing to do with WEP
-its a windows problem and i doubt it's a hardware failure so don't go and buy a new set just yet
