Can you give us some information about your PC. Operating system, service pack, are you using the Linksys software or Windows wireless configuration?

Did you set up your router?
Have you got WEP or WPA encryption enabled?
Did you enable MAC address filtering?

Answer what you can from the above - more information is crucial to the resolution of this issue.

I'm using Windows XP SP2.
im using the windows config cuz the software keeps saying my model is inactive.
i setup my router it works fine with my desktop. It does have WPA encryption- i thought this was the problem and disabled it, it still didnt work.
MAC is disabled..

Is the router set to DHCP or static IP address? Do you have anything entered in the DNS or WINS part of your IP configuration for your wireless adapter?
Go into Windows Services and make sure that "Windows Zero Configuration" is ON.

It almost seems to me that your router is set to use DHCP and you Laptop isn't, or visa-versa. Make sure that on your router DHCP is enabled, and then go to start>>Control Panel>>Network Connections. Find the connection that uses your wireless NIC. Right click>>Properties>>General Tab>>Click on the text="Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)>>Properties. Make sure that "Obtain an IP address automatically is selected. Select Ok>>Ok and try it now.

Also double check again to make sure you arent doin any mac address filtering..
