I used to use a wireless internet connection, but now I use a cable connection but still have the Wireless hardware put into my computer, and every time I log on it comes up with an icon and notification. So here's my question:

How can I disable the wireless network icon and notification?

Do the following - click on Start > Connect to > Show all connections > find your wireless connection there and right click + disable it.
