Default network question

I am trying to set up a wireless network system in my grandmothers house so there can be wireless internet (Comcast cable) in the up stairs bedroom. But since there is no cable jack and they said they can't run a line, I was to have the internet come in downstairs.

So I have the cable internet going into the cable modem and then into the Linksys WRT54G wireless router (no computer directly hooked up to the router). Then I have a reciever upstairs on the desktop.

Here is my problem:

The internet works if you hook a computer up directly to the modem or router...also the wireless router is sending up a signal to the upstairs pc. But it is not sending up the inernet. Just wondering what I am doing wrong?

By the way, the pc must stay where it is. Any help would be great, thanks.

Default Re: network question

On the computer with the wireless receiver, go to network connections and see if the type is "LAN or High-Speed internet".

Also you say the upsstairs computer is receiving a signal ... can you actualy transfer data ie a file.
