hi there -

Where is the 'Let windows manage my connection' box? I've disabled the wireless zero configuration utility, but now I'm not getting any sort of reliable connection/ I'm still not 100% convinced that the software I have works entirely independently of the WZCU - annoyingly, the first time I installed the software i recall getting a box flash up asking me if I wanted windows or the software to do something (not entirely sure what), but on subsequent installations (having uninstalled the software) it doesn't seem to offer me this option any more. Any ideas how to get this back?

Cheers
Weev.

It was probably asking you the exact thing the other guys have posted here. Whether you wanted the software or Windows to manage your wireless network connection. The "Let Windows mange my Wireless connection" tick box is available by clicking on your wireless icon in your taskbar then selecting advanced. Hold on, do you have SP2 installed?

hi

I have Sp2 installed yes. I've looked on a couple of 'advanced' tabs and can't find the option you mentioned. The closest I've seen is 'automatically configure my wireless connections' on a different tab.

Right click on the little wireless icon next to the clock in the taskbar > select "view available wireless networks" > Make sure your existing connection is shown in the box on the right of the new window that pops up.

Now, click on "Change Advanced Settings" on the left and then the "Wireless Connections" tab.

The check box "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" is at the top.

Hello again,

I could get that tab because I'd disabled WZCU. I've re-enabled it and the tab appeared, with the said check-box. I've unchecked it. Is this going to do the job?
