Xeno
The point I'm making here is that if Toe has a system builder OEM then he will have to obtain a new copy of XP because he has upgraded the motherboard therefore making a new computer in the eyes of Microsoft.

Sorry wolfey, I must have missed that he changed his mobo. Gotta stop skimming through stuff and read it all.
Funny, it turned out in the other thread the person wasn't using a legit copy of windows either. EDIT: To members reading this please be aware that my "comment" was to the first sentence made by Xeno and not the latter. Last edited by Wolfeymole; 2 Weeks Ago at 03:01 PM. |

I followed the link that xeno provided for a previous post, deactivated my key, then just rebooted and rang microsoft for a new key.
Many thanks to you all, I do have an unrelated problem but I will start another thread for that |

Hi
The first thing I would have done is "negate" the previous activation, and activate again. Here's how you can do that:How to Reactivate Windows Update after Repairing the System | Computer Repair Guide
