I just remembered. My dad told me he's had extremely bad virus infections on this computer in the past and has restored the computer at least 4 times over the period of a month.. I have no idea what the heck he doesn on here >.>. The computer came with a restore disk. It's an E-machines and has an e-machine restore disc that reinstalls windows on the computer again. Could it be some bug in my computer and could it be so bad that reinstalling an OS doesn't rid the computer of it??? Or maybe I need to install xp with a legitmate windows xp disk? Just some random thoughts. BTW My friend has the EXACT same problem as me. He gets the exact speeds as me almost to the decimal when downlaoding a game or loading a youtube video in HD yet he has the same ISP and speed that i have at my home as does my dad.. He has a monster gaming computer that I'm sure is virus free however. So I'm guessing it's some other kind of problem. The only thing i can see making snese is there's some kind of cap on our internet considering it seems like both me and my friend have the same problem..

XenoChrist,

You seemed to ignore this information
Cable is a shared network - from your home to the cable company with any neighbors also enjoying cable Internet sharing the bandwidth

Different neighborhoods will have different cable Internet usage patterns depending on avg age of the residents, during or after school hours, school vacation, etc. In other words, the more people on line at the same time, the slower the connection speed available to your Dad's home
I have to suggest that you contact your ISP with the results that you have to date and take it up with them.

If you would like to have your system reviewed for malware infections, please step through the PreWork document found in my Signature and post ALL requested logs back into this thread. We will then redirect the thread to our Security team for further analysis.
