Ok people, im hoping you'll be able to help me with this really weird problem im having. Basically, My PC was working fine yesterday, but today i go to turn it on and it goes to that first kinda loading screen where its pretty much just black and white and says stuff like press F1 or ESC for setup and stuff like that, but then instead of going to the next normal screen (you know the one where it has the windows logo and and loading bar) it just goes blank and stays like that. Im 90% sure its not the screen itself because i tried it with another monitor and the same thing happened, also i haven't switchd monitors or anthing for that matter recently so its weird that it would suddenyl stop working, right?
Im guessing i might have to go into setup and change some stuff, but i daren't try without some advice first.
EXTRA INFO.: If it helps im using a MEDION computer and im running Windows XP.
ALSO! Something that caught my eye when trying it for about the 20th time was that it said this on that first loading screen (i dunno whether this means anything or not) :

IDE Primary Master : Samsung SV4012H RM100-08
IDE Prmary Slave : None
IDE Secondary Master : SONY CD-RW CRX1611 TYS7
IDE Secondary Slave :IDE DVD-ROM 16X V1.3!

Its just that the "!" at the end of the last bit made me think was it trying to tell me something was wrong with that bit or something?
BTW i've tried starting in safe mode which doesnt work either, i get to the "start in safe mode" screen and then when i press enter to start in safe mode it again just goes black
Sorry if i've written loads but i dont wanna miss anything out, i hope someone ca help and please try and keep the explanations as simple as possible.

Pop your XP cd into the optical drive and perform a repair install. Best to make sure you have the Service Pack that is installed on the system incorporated onto the cd. This is the only thing that got it up for me.
I have the same issue on a pc Im working on right now. Bad news though, once I performed repair install and got it booted up the system is hosed. IE6 would open but give me an error : The requested lookup key was not found in any active activation contest: tried installing IE7 but now it wont even open
Not sure but I think an update to the integrated LAN hosed it....I will probably do a full re image..
