I have many MPEG2 files that I need to play on Media Player 11. The video is fine but there is no audio. I have to use media player because the files are sent to many companies via email. So I can't use another player. Any help would be appreciated.

You're probably missing the audio codec to play the sound. Try installing ffdshow, it should provide the right codec for you.

DIIRE agrees: I agree - it's definately a codec issue.

Hi clevehill,

As Xeno1 said it's a codec issue. The problem you're going to have is that unless every customer installs the codec pack on their pc they will have no audio. You may need to look at converting the files to mpeg1 which is supported without having to install extra codecs, so that way they will play with audio on any Windows PC.

The link below is to paid software - but you may be able to find a free mpeg2 to mpeg1 converter.

Convert MPEG-1 to MPEG-2 and MPEG-2 to MPEG-1 Converter Software
