Default Two operating systems - How to delete one?

Hi, Sorry if this post is in the wrong topic, please move if this is the case.

I'm currently using a laptop where the hard drive has been partitioned (I'm assuming this as I don't think it has two hard drives but I can't be sure). Windows XP is on one, and Windows Vista is on the other.

I'm using Windows XP but I have ran out of space. Is it possible to delete the partition with Windows Vista on?

Unfortunatly I do not have either windows CD any more.

Hello Luke

What was the original operating system on the drive?

How do I find that out??

This laptop used to belong to my dad's work so they set it up. I'm not sure myself.

Can you right click on My Computer and choose Manage.

Under Storage click Disk Management and post a screenshot of that back here by using Manage Attachments please.

Ok that looks good, simply right click on the Vista partition and click Format.

Now I you must get a partition manager to extend C: once you have deleted Vista as XP does not have the tools to do so.

This is free and is very good.

FREE EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition: Best Partition Manager freeware for Windows 2000/XP/Vista.

Ok so if I back up anything I may have saved on the D: hard drive, right click and format, then use EASEUS to extend C: I should be all good?

Thanks for all your help
