Unhappy Memory Allocation Errors?

Ok, computer is messed up AGAIN! I went a good year on this thing with no problems... le sigh.

Anyway, I cannot run firefox (I constantly get the error: Script on this page was ended because of memory space) then it crashes completely.

My local IT guru (sister) said to try the windows onecare scan. 2 seconds in I get an error.

So she suggested I download AVG (I currently use avast) It wouldn't download said the error was Memory Allocation Failed.

Yesterday Avast warned me of a page I was on, said it had a trojan. I closed firefox and didn't open the page, as avast told me. Immediately after that I reopened firefox and had no problems. Today, all this.

I ran the avast scan, found nothing. Ran Spybot S&D found nothing... What now?

OK tried to download MALWAREBYTES as recommended on another thread if this is a trojan issue... I couldn't download, I didn't have enough memory! (I have over 16g free on my harddrive... I've checked twice.)

Error code: 703 (0 , 7) when I try and run malwarebytes.

Should I go to the security forum with this?? Oy vey.

OK, first malwarebytes, according to their forum you should try installing it in safe mode without networking when you get the 703 error.

Next, having 16g of free space on your hard drive has nothing to do with memory space. It has to do with the memory sticks (RAM) you have installed. How much memory does your computer have? If you don't know, click on start->all programs->accessories->system tools->system information and look for installed physical memory (RAM) and it will tell you.

It's possible that this is malware related, but it could also mean that your memory is going bad. I would suggest downloading and running memtest86+. You'll have to burn it to disk and then boot from the cd. Let it run at least 8 passes to check for errors. It takes severl hours to run so most people run it right before bed and let it run all night.
