Hello Jetstuff
Welcome to PCHF First of all what make and model is the PC? What is the operating system on that PC? Do you know if the other partition is a Recovery Partition?

Hey there jetstuff!!
Welcome to the Forum!! Removing a partition without losing backed up data is not usually a good option. May we please have more information as to what you need done? Operating system on both drives would be a start. Thanks for your patience

Are you sure this is a partition on the main drive and not a separate physical drive?
The reason why I ask is because the way it's configured it seems that E: has been set after the installation of the optical drive which would be D: If this is the case then what did you use to split the partition at that time?

Yes it's the same main drive..... I don't remember how I did it some years ago, I just installed XP as per instructions!
Would it be easier to install an extra hard drive and shuffle things across? or use my USB maxtor drive to help out? |

How big is the Maxtor, in fact how big is the main drive because 87GB seems rather a strange figure even when compensating against actual GB size?
